There are many good reasons why it is worth becoming a member of Leeds Atheist Society. Outlined below are some great reasons though to really understand the society you need to pitch up to an event and have a chat with us!
Support a good cause
Before we run through all the cool stuff that membership gives you, it’s important to point out that LAS is a non-profit volunteer run organisation that relies on the support both from the time and the money our members donate. Becoming a member helps us raise the funding needed to run the societies events and is a great way to get involved. By becoming a member, you’re support a good cause.
Access all areas
Becoming a member gets you on the mailing list and gets you an invite to all our members only events which, as you can guess from the name, non-members are not invited to.
Weekend Away discount
We offer places for Weekend Away £10 cheaper to members and non-members. Given that this is more than our membership fee, membership really does pay for itself if you are joining us for our annual partying weekend.
Free library access
Members have exclusive access to the society library which is completely free for members to borrow books from! There is a great selection of appropriately themed books to choose from all of which are well worth a read.
Disocunted Membership to the BHA
The British Humanist Association offers a lower rate of membership to students from affiliated societies, which of course Leeds is. Student membership usually costs £20/year but we can offer it to you for £10/year! Talk to a committee member if you’d like us to arrange this for you.
